The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has revealed its nominees for Best Documentary Motion Picture, with several Oscar contenders among the selections. Notably, Netflix titles The Perfect Neighbor and The Tale of Silyan (National Geographic) have earned recognition after their recent wins at the Critics Choice Documentary Awards and the IDA Documentary Awards, respectively. The Best Documentary Motion Picture category marks the first wave in a series of announcements that honor outstanding achievements in documentary filmmaking. Beyond recognizing excellence in production across film, TV, and emerging media, the PGA also honors key industry figures who have shaped the producing profession.
In a formal statement, PGA Presidents Stephanie Allain and Donald De Line emphasized the guild’s mission: to celebrate producers and teams whose work demonstrates dedication to excellence and a commitment to advancing the craft across all formats.
This year’s slate includes awardees such as Amy Pascal (David O. Selznick Achievement Award), Mara Brock Akil (Norman Lear Achievement Award), and Jason Blum (Milestone Award). The Documentary Motion Picture winner will be announced at the Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 28, at the Fairmont Century Plaza.
