Owaisi Debunks Myth: Muslim Population Won't Surpass Hindus in India (2026)

In a bold statement, Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has asserted that Muslims will never surpass the Hindu population in India, dismissing concerns as misplaced and politically motivated. In a rally in Nizamabad, Hyderabad MP Owaisi highlighted that while fears of Muslim demographic dominance are being raised, larger demographic and economic questions are being overlooked. He questioned the government's actions for the country's young population, which makes up 60% of the country's demographic, asking what measures have been taken to address their job prospects and skill development.

Owaisi argued that discussions around population often selectively focus on Muslims, ignoring long-term economic pressures. He emphasized that the Muslim population will stabilize and never exceed the Hindu population, and that the country's population will age in 25-30 years. He also criticized the RSS (chief) Mohan Bhagwat's suggestion to have at least three children, noting that he himself does not follow this advice.

Owaisi also addressed the controversy surrounding Pakistan's boycott of its T20 World Cup match against India, criticizing both Pakistan and the Indian government's response. He accused the Modi government of avoiding tough responses on external security issues, including China's border issue.
